Fifteen years ago, Tommy Wiseau created The Room and released it for screenings at a small number of theatres in California. The buzz about the film began, based on Wiseau’s bizarre and unconventional storytelling, technical and narrative flaws, and off-kilter performance. The Room became so notorious that a new film was created based on the experience of making the original film. The Disaster Artist is in theaters now, and has been nominated by the Golden Globes for Best Motion Picture and Best Actor (James Franco). The popularity of the original film is now soaring. The Room follows the story of Johnny (Wiseau), a bank employee who, seemingly, lives happily in a San Francisco townhouse with Lisa, his fiancée. One day she gets bored with Tommy and seduces his best friend, Mark - played by Wiseau’s best friend, Greg Sestero, who went on to write the award-winning 2013 memoir The Disaster Artist. This, as one of the many famous quotes from the movie confirms, tears him apart. This cinema event release of The Room premieres the following new segments: • A welcome and introduction from James Franco and Tommy. • Segue from Tommy to James Franco Interview. • World Premiere of the trailer for Tommy’s new movie “Best F(r)iends.” • Special goodbye from Tommy
